Following the release of Watchmen, the movie, and after reading some criticism of the comic book adaptation that did not come out very well I decided to stop reading it before. I wanted to enjoy the original movie before I could spoil the story.

Comic books to read on the computer are simply scans of the pages of the comic itself packaged with a compressor. Typically used .rar or .zip and lead by extension .cbr and .cbz respectively. You may want to change the extension and view the contents of the file with File Roller .

In the official repositories are three programs that will facilitate electronic reading these comics. My favorite es comix , plus cbrpager and qcomicbook it is for KDE.

Features of comix is to scale and move the pages. Rotate or reflect them. Zoom lens as if it were. It has a full-screen mode. Preloading load accelerates the comic book. Supports bookmarks and setting is configurable. Generate thumbnails of the images allows us to move through the comic. This translated into Spanish and is compatible with the formats scanned images .jpg , .png , .tif, and .bmp .

To install comix just run the following command in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install comix

and once you get your password validity and through the Internet connection download and install the program. Will appear in the graphics menu of applications. Comix works perfectly with Ubuntu 8.10

Wachtmen the comic, it is worth. It is a little heavy at first. Each of the twelve books is a part of everything and the first not quite understand what happens. But overall Wachtmen is a great story full of small details. Of those who have to reread it several times to get all the juice. I have yet to see the movie. I hope does not disappoint.
