Finally came the patch 3.3.0 for World of Warcraft where the story of the latest expansion Wrath of the Lich King concludes, may finally find the King Review and kill him. After waiting for almost 800MB patch is downloaded and installed correctly we encountered a fatal error that prevents us from accessing the game. After entering the username and password have the following error numbered R6034:

It's a problem loading a Windows DLL. The solution that worked for my discharge passes through winetricks and install it in Wine redistribution package libraries Visual Studio C + + 2005. From a terminal run the following commands:

wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks

Which will download winetricks and:

sh winetricks vcrun2005sp1 vcrun2005

Whereupon libraries installed Visual Studio C + + 2005 SP1 and our Wine.

This solution is not specific to Ubuntu, and safely work on other Linux distributions.

Surely few of us do not play WoW using Wine on Linux. People should take care of Blizzard a bit and perhaps contribute to the Wine project to the game client works for everyone.

Curiously the game update on Windows partition that I have failed incomplete. After suggesting the installer Wow Patch 3.3.0 to completely reinstall Wow and gloom before it represents (install 3 dvds and download multiple heavy patches, work many many hours) I thought that in view of the update My Ubuntu 9.10 was successful simply choose to copy the game folder in Wine to the partition for Windows and that was enough to make it work properly.
