In Ubuntu, after completing its installation some Gnome desktop icons very useful not available. The paper is probably the most useful of these desktop icons. We can do more things, for example if we change the name we use the following command:

gconftool-2 -t string -s /apps/nautilus/desktop/trash_icon_name "Recicla"

"Recycle" is the name that has the trash. You can change the ones you like best.

The same applies if we want to do to look like the PC icon. We would use the following command:

gconftool-2 -t bool -s /apps/nautilus/desktop/computer_icon_visible true

And to change the name to "Ubuntu system" as follows:

gconftool-2 -t string -s /apps/nautilus/desktop/computer_icon_name "Sistema Ubuntu"
